Based
on the specifications of a customer supplied DXF file, a light
beam approximately ten thousandth of an inch in diameter cuts
precision parts out of sheet stock without the need for tooling
or fixturing. Our 3,000 watt (4,000 watt peak) CNC laser with
5' x 10' pallet shuttle provides us with the capability to cut
most metals along with other materials that including gaskets and plastic. Increased machining capacity is a significant benefit
of laser cutting since it sometimes provides Ridge with a more
efficient method of machining parts as compared to punching, milling,
waterjet and wire EDM.
